About the creator, Melanie Page: Born and raised in the DMV, basketball was my very first love. Upon graduating from North Carolina A&T, I began working for ESPN Films where I produced on “SEC Storied: No Experience Required”, “SEC Storied: The Walk Off”, and “ESPN’s Spike Lee’s Lil Joints: Redemption Song” . From there, I honed my craft as a writer and director which led to the spark of my work-in-progress doc-useries Can’t Retire From This, telling the love stories of girls basketball from women who have cultivated their lives and careers from within the game of basketball or because of the game of basketball.
