II DANCE: HAND DANCE CLASSES
Hand Dance is an art form of swing dance and the official dance of our nation’s capital. IIDance! has been teaching students this art form in the DMV area for the past 23 years and have taught over 8,000 students.
Its business owners, Kermit Banks and Novella Campbell, are both Certified Instructors and have been hand dancing for over 40 years combined. Although teaching and the preservation of Hand Dance is truly their mission, IIDance! has performed at numerous venues including the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Theater, the Smithsonian in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Opening Ceremonies for the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. IIDance! has also competed both locally and nationally at such events as the TriState Dance Competition, the North Atlantic Swing Dance Competition, the Grand National Swing Dance Competition, All That Dance Competition, and the VSO National Swing Dance Competition winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
IIDance! Classes are held every Tuesday at Creative Suitland located in Suitland, MD. Students attend beginner’s and intermediate classes in a comfortable and fun environment.
In addition to teaching, IIDance! provides entertainment and/or workshops for almost any occasion.
