Poetry Workshop for Veterans is a free 90-minute poetry workshop for veterans and persons who support veterans. The workshop will take place from 2:00-3:30pm, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Creative Suitland, 4719 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, Maryland 20746, and will be facilitated by Prince George’s County Poet Laureate, Sistah Joy with Featured Veteran/Poet Andre Brenardo Taylor.
During the workshop participants will discuss, create and share poetry that tells truth, heals, celebrates and commemorates life experiences of those who served and sacrificed through military service as well as those who care for and support veterans.
Participants will be provided a workbook containing sample poems, writing prompts, poetry tools and techniques. This workshop is structured to accommodate all writing levels, from beginning writer to established poet.
