You are invited to Creative Suitland for a Double Feature Film Screening and community discussion about Safety in Schools. Monday, November 8th at 6:30pm.


How do we make safe schools?

Join us for a community discussion on policing and discipline in our schools. After screening a documentary on school policing’s effects on our children, we’ll host a community discussion feature students, parents, and advocates.

Double Feature Film Screening

Homeroom (11/8 Screening) -- Oakland High School’s class of 2020 confronts anxiety over test scores, college applications, and the efforts to eliminate the school district’s police force unfold against the nationwide demands for systemic change.

Pushout (11/15 Screening) — A deep dive into the lives of Black girls and the practices, cultural beliefs and policies that disrupts one of the most important factors in girls’ lives: education.

COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES:

  • If You Are Sick, Stay Home

  • Masks are required

  • Proof of vaccination is required

    • You may show the physical vaccination card or a photo of the card on you phone

    • If you are unable to be vaccinated, you must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours on the day of the performance

  • No concessions and no outside food or drink
