Calling all teens! Pop out at Creative Suitland this summer to experience dance workshops, learn about the music industry, practice mindfulness and poetry! Activities are designed for ages 13-19.
Writing to Wellness is a discussion-based workshop designed for writers to use poetry as a tool for healing when navigating trauma. Participants will learn helpful tips via discussion on how to navigate trauma through expressive forms of creative writing, how to advocate for others and how to build a safe space for self-care. The program will be held every Tuesday VIA ZOOM from 6-7PM.
Writing To Wellness was created by our Poetry Coordinator, C. Thomas, who leads Writing to Wellness (for adults) on the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month. We are excited to expand the program and provide a safe space for teens.
Writing To Wellness for Teens will be led by the 2021 Prince George's County Youth Poet Laureate, Sainey Ceesay.
This program is FREE for teens 13-19.
CreateTEENS is presented by Creative Suitland Arts Center and sponsored by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Division M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation.
